Nikki shares her experiences with ethnomathematics, which connects math to students’ everyday lives and cultures. By exploring math in art, music, food, and other cultural practices, students develop a deeper appreciation for its relevance. Incorporating Indigenous knowledge into math education enhances student engagement and success while promoting land and community well-being. Nikki has also included an Estimating Tree Height activity.
